Brooklyn gets Nuevo.

From the Editors

Nuevo Latino is new again -- to Brooklyn, at least. Chef Jorge Adriazola (Chicama, Patria, Sushi Samba) was recruited to infuse traditionally Latin dishes from Peru, Puerto Rico, Cuba and other countries of Simon de Bolivar's travels with modern style for this sleek eatery in Fort Greene, which claims to be the first Nuevo Latino restaurant in Brooklyn. Peruvian plays heavy in on the menu, including staples like rotisserie chicken and quinoa (Peruvian-style couscous), with unusual dishes like Lechon Asado, a Puerto Rican holiday recipe of slow-roasted pork with sour orange mojo. The "nuevo" kicks in with dishes like plantain-bacon crusted red snapper with tomatillo salsita, and mango-habanero barbecue-style St. Louis ribs with mango relish, the intent reinforced by modern minimal space and overly-chic square china. But even if the atmosphere is a bit sterile, seven flavors of mojitos help brighten things up, as do the unlimited mimosas during brunch. -- Dan Glass
